A year has passed

I lump felt,

1 mammogram and ultrasound,

1 core needle biopsy and mammogram,

1 MRI,

1 MRI guided biopsy and mammogram,

1 lumpectomy and sentinel node dissection (6 nodes removed)

1 drain,

1 auxiliary node dissection (7 more nodes removed) and another drain,

1 CT scan,

1 bone scan,

1 port placement,

Way too many blood draws to count…

6 new external scars,

1 EKG,

4 rounds of Adriamycin (Red Devil) and Cytoxin,

20 Nivestym shots,

1 lymphedema prevention physical therapy,

A COVID scare and 9 day stay in the Airstream,

12 rounds of Taxol,

33 sessions of radiation,

11 migraines,

So many hours of doctors appointments, phone calls and scheduling,

Thousands of dollars in medical bills, and

So many cards, texts, calls, gifts, hugs, walks, visits, and so.much. love. and support later… we made it this far support squad. I just kept putting one foot in front of the other, I kept moving, and I don’t even miss cheese anymore. ❤️
