Health update!
I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted an update – it’s been 2 years this week since I finished chemo! I get asked a lot how I’m doing and I still never know if it’s like a general “How are you?” or like a “How ARE you?” Cancer is still with me…

Managing side effects
I’ve had this update in drafts for weeks and weeks and have had so many people reach out recently to see how I’m doing! Thank you for the messages and motivation to get the update done! Most of my life I think I’ve had an addiction to busyness and doing things, but since finishing active…

One Year of NED
Hello Friends! It’s been a few months since I checked in and I don’t know where the time has gone! I really wanted to have a gentle start to the new year and have been fully embracing the idea of wintering: looking inward, reading, cozy blankets on the couch, drinking warm tea and soups. Dan…

There is only now.
Hi friends! I just hit the year mark of sharing my cancer diagnosis (thanks Facebook memories!), a year since my first surgery (12/15), and am coming up on my year from my NED (no evidence of disease) date (1/18). What. A. Freakin’. Year… I know it was a tough year for a lot of people…

So… what the heck’s next??
I finished radiation on 9/21 – which marked the end of my active treatment. My skin did well overall and healed up in less than 2 weeks. My radiation oncologist had said my skin may continue to get worse for about a week after radiation, but luckily it didn’t. I will see my RO in…

4 weeks done of radiation!
I hit my halfway point of radiation this week! It’s been a lot, having to go everyday but the session itself is super quick, if not mentally and physically draining. I’m going into Tacoma to see the radiology oncologist my surgeon recommended, even though there is a radiation center closer. I really like my RO…

Radiation begins

It was a nice month off in between treatments! I did get a crazy cough that lasted over a week (like pee your pants bad cough), but it wasn’t COVID and I had no other symptoms, other than it messing with my sleep and making me say “I don’t have COVID” when out in public.…

More appointments and first Wednesday without chemo in months!

I freakin’ did it! 16 chemo sessions DONE! It felt like I was doing chemo for 100 years (it was only 5 months… but a loooong 5 months). I’m kind of shocked I made it without getting sick or having any delays. But I developed a cough last week that is waking me up at…

June updates

Hi friends! I continue to have a lot of fatigue and we’ve been somewhat busy, so just haven’t had the energy to update the blog – I am long overdue! Since my last update, I have seen my oncologist twice (on 5/31 and 6/21). My labs have been moving in the right direction, and while…
